This story says that in his press conference Splicer confirmed that Donald Trump believes that there were millions of illegal votes cast for his opponent and if it weren't for those votes he would had won the popular vote as well as the electoral collage. Then they point out that there have been scores of experts that refute this theory. It is clear to me that this idea that Trumps believe is false.
I have a few issues with this story. The first of which is that the title is absolutely not true. The press secretary did not say yes, the president is a conspiracy, that would by a direct confirmation. If the headline read Press Secretary Confirmed That President Trump Believes a Story That Many Believes Is A Conspiracy Theory, that would have been an accurate headline. You might think I am nitpicking here. This site has claimed that Trump has lied about this issue. If the Huffington Post is holding other people to a certain standard of honesty then I will hold them to the same standard. Also a conspiracy theorist usually believes in the theory right. The usual issue with a conspiracy theorist is not that they lie but that they are disillusion. The kind of need to chose one, is he a conspiracy theorist on this issue or is he a liar on this issue. You really can't have it both ways. Interestingly enough the link to the story uses the term lie which is inconsistent with the other story. But the headline in the story it's self uses the word falsely which might not be inconsistent with the later story.
In the story itself although I do agree with the premise that there is no evidence that this massive level of voter fraud takes place. I think it is important to note that in every election there is voter fraud. In reading there story you could just assume that all claims of voter fraud is crazy which is not the case.
Most of what they say is valid. Trump seems off his rocker for saying this but many presidents make outlandish statements. I am not a long time reader of this site so I don't know, but I doubt that the Huffington Post made this big of a deal about outlandish statement that President Obama made. One statement that comes to mind is We flood communities with so many guns that it is easier for a teenager to buy a Glock than get his hands on a computer or even a book. Now I realize that he was trying to say that many individuals in the inner cities don't have as much access to quality education and thus are more likely to turn to crime, which is statement that is worthy of a vigorous debate. But the quote I gave to you is absolute nonsense. Most kids in the inner cities do have access to computers and books in schools and public libraries. There were not many voicing saying that this was either a lie or conspiracy theory and it was one of those two. I have no problem with calling out Trump, but do it on both sides.
So now it's time for me to address the question in the title of this post. I do not think he is lying. I think he is an egomaniac that has to win at everything. Even though he won the presidency, he could not stand the idea that Hillary won the presidency. So when someone came out with this wild claim that there was unrepresented voter fraud he latched on to the idea because it feeds his ego.
So those are my thought. What are yours? If you disagree I would love to hear about it.
Love you all.
