Both of these are considered very bold predictions. We will see what happens but that's my two cents.
I just wanted to put up a couple of quick predictions for the NBA Conference finals that fly in the face of traditional wisdom. Everything I have seen has Cleveland winning in less games than Golden State. Right now I will say I think that the Eastern Conference Championships will go either 6 or seven games with Toronto wining. I also think that Golden State will win, like most of the experts think but I think they will win in five. Actually I think they could win in four but five is more probable.
Both of these are considered very bold predictions. We will see what happens but that's my two cents.

Obviously I am not happy about the final result of the game, but that Portland vs golden State game was amazing. It went back and forth and even though the Warriors wanted to limit Curry's minutes an ejection made that impossible and Curry put on a clinic at the end of the game.
It's a weird thing being a Portland fan. We have been witness to some of the greatest legends putting on some of their best games against us. Late in his career Larry bird put up an incredible game against us it was as if he could not miss. Micheal Jordon not only put up one of his greatest games against us in the finals, he was hitting so many crazy circus shots that he shook his head in disbelief while raising his hands. That shot is still used in NBA promo's. No we can add one more legendary performance that we have had the pleasure of watching, and the displeasure as well because it came in a loss. The hopes of winning this series has nearly been extinguished and it was never great to begin with but we can't lose sight of what they have accomplished this year. This has been an epic season for the Blazers. They accomplished a feat that no one else has ever done, making the playoffs after just returning two players that logged in 1,000 or more minutes the year before. We are still one player away from greatness, but we are knocking on the door. Who knows maybe we will be one of those rare teams that come back from a 1-3 deficit. I doubt it but never count this team out. Go Blazers!!!! I do not like the terms emotional, mental or psychological abuse, and not because they can't happen or that they can't be damaging it is just the fact that they are so vague and hard to define.
Physical abuse is simple and easy to define. If I see some one hit or kick there kid I know how to define that. I know what that is. Sexual abuse is also easy to define and nearly universally condemned, but mental abuse is very different. Some would define yelling at your kids as emotional abuse, but if you are the type of person who rarely yells at their kids and you see them doing something really dangerous and you yell at them to get them to stop to prevent someone from getting hurt, does that make it mental abuse? I don't think so. That actually brings us to a big difference from emotional or mental abuse and the other forms of abuse I mentioned. In emotional abuse it is rarely just a single instance that makes it abuse but rather a pattern. If you get upset and yell at your kid one time a year it's probably not abuse but if you do it all the time to control them then it is probably abuse. As apposed to a single punch or a single inappropriate touch which are obviously abusive by nature. Instead of labeling things emotional abuse I think it is better to use more descriptive terms. For example saying that a a parent yells at their child to much, or is emotional manipulative. This both more accurately describes what is going on in the relationship and does not not make any erroneous comparisons to physical or sexual abuse. Do you agree with me or think I am dead wrong? Let me know in the comments. Even after Portland one game three at home and before they announced Curry would play in game four the experts were giving them no respect. Every annalist I saw was predicting a warrior victory in game four.
David Aldridge was even worse. He ranked the NBA's top fifteen teams and he put Portland at number 14. He ranked six teams that had already been eliminated from the playoffs ahead of the team that could pull even with the defending world champs tonight with a win. Come on Portland win this game. Prove the experts wrong once again. I know it is a tough order but you can do it. Go Blazers, I have been thinking about writing a knew picture book about dinosaurs. I would need to some research on this one. So I decided to get the aid of a dinosaur expert I know, my 8 year old son. I told him the kind of dinosaur I wanted to use and he is doing research I will need to complete this book.
He loves it and it is a great home schooling project for him. It also allows us to work together on something we both love and I hope it will bring us together. I hope you all had a wonderful mothers day. It turns out the Flintstone's didn't lie to me after all. Well they lied to me about Fred powered cars, prehistoric dishwashers, and small mammals that dubbed as garbage disposals. But there is one thing that they didn't lie about and that is the existence of the Brontosaurus.
About a month ago I was talking to my son and I mentioned the Brontosaurus and I mentioned that it was no longer considered a dinosaur, because that is what I had been taught. But my 8 year old son who is very knowledgeable about dinosaurs said that Brontosauruses were in fact a real dinosaur, so I looked it up. Back in the 1870 there were a couple of paleontologists who were in a war to see who could find and name more dinosaurs. One found a large sauropod skeleton and named it apatosaurus. The other found a large sauropod a year or two latter and named it the Brontosaurus, but it was determined in 1903 that the Brontosaurus was just a more complete skeleton, of the Apatosaurus. So it kept its original name and officially there was no Brontosaurus. Even though the Brontosaurus name was more entrenched and more famous. That all changed in 2015, when researchers took another look at that Brontosaurus skeleton and found enough differences that they said it justified its own genus. Now I guess the Brontosaurus is back. Yeah. This is the nature of science. It drives me crazy when people talk about settled science. There is no such thing. As new facts come into evidence we are required to adjust our thinking and change our perceptions. Science can only be settled if we know all of the facts about any given thing that could possibly be known. I think we are a long way from that. The great thing about science is the possibility of finding out new and life changing things. If we have settled science then we are saying there is nothing left to learn, that is sad and arrogant. Let's keep on learning and growing. Also let's welcome the Brontosaurus back into the family of animals that once existed on this great and wonderful planet we call home. I just wanted to wish a happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers out there that mean so much to me. I love you Mom you are so great. Happy mothers day to all of my sisters and my mother in law Peggy.
Of course I wish a very special Happy mothers day to the woman who chose to be the mother of my children. I love you Natasha. I figured I might just as well finish out this game. We are back up by 11 and Damian has 25 points. We have a chance at this game. Blazers you can't let up now. The Warriors are so fast and can catch up in an instant.
In a previous post I talked about the importance of not over using the word hero. I think it should be reserved for a special few. Like Donnell Marcus Phelps. He was a nineteen year old freshman at Fort Valley State in Georgia.]
He saw a man harassing three young men and groping them in a disgusting way. So Donnell stood up to the attacker and the man pulled out a knife and stabbed Donnell who died at the hospital. It was said that he was a kind young man who tried to help others when ever the opportunity arose. May we all have as much courage and honor as this young man did. To all of his family and friends our hearts go out to you. It sounds like someone raised him very well. May God bless him and welcome him home with arms wide open. This is what a hero looks like. I was so disappointment by the end of game 2. We just disintigrated in the fourth, but giving them there full due, they did an amazing job in the fourth quarter especially on defense. The Warriors are a special team and when they get curry back they will be epic once more.
