Then a young woman go up and started to speak. The first thing she said was that she was nervous to speak because there were so many white people their. Then she said that she wished they could get that many people their for one of their black lives matter events. She continued on in this tasteless manor hijacking the vigil.
Many of the attendee's were very upset and rightfully so. I saw an interview of a man who was leaving this event in protest. He used to live in Orlando and had friends that regularly attended that club. He went looking for some peace and some closer he got nothing because of the callous actions of others. Well he did get something more pain and hurt.
When the cloud started to yell back at the speaker she got defensive and said that this gathering was not about her or them but about the people who died. She was right about it not being about her. She was not right about it not being about them. Those vigils are as much about the living as the dead. It is there for people like the man who felt like he had to leave. He had a personal connection to the tragedy and needed that healing.
Black lives matters says that they do believe that all lives matter but it is black lives that are being undervalued and taken to often without cause, but they didn't show that this week at all.
What if some crazed racist went into Harlem and started shooting it up and black lives matters held a vigil and some white gay man spoke and tried to take over the event. Do you think they would have been fine with that? Of course not.
I know this does not represent every member of Black Lives Matters but I fear it represents far too many of them. My Prayers and thoughts go out to everyone who lost loved ones or was in any ways hurt by the massacre in Orlando.
Let me make this clear. I am not talking about all black people here, or even most black people. I am talking about what I believe to be a small minority of black people. I am talking about those in power at Black Lives Matters and feel that it is appropriate to take this kind of action and any who support them. Shame on you. I know this crowd thinks that all lives matters is a racist movement designed to denigrate black lives but its not. All lives really do matter.
All lives matter let's shout it from the roof tops.
