I would like to thank everyone for there support and payers. I know I have been receiving a lot of them lately and truly appriciate it.
Remember back in July I had an infection in my left big toe and went to the hospital. Well I knew at that point that it had reached the bone but there was a chance that the toe could be saved. We thought that the infection had been killed and the toe had nearly healed up completly, but somewhere there was a bit of that infection that survived. A few weeks ago I started running fevers and got muscle aches. It sort of felt like an infections but I had none of the surface signs of the infection. Usually the rednes and infilmation of the toe comes first, but in this case the infection came from the inside out instead of the other way around. By the time the outward signs of the infection came to be the damage to the bone was extensive. I put up a good fight but the toe was a lost cause. There is no point in endangering the rest of the foot. So we amputated it.
I am taking care of my body much better now though and I am hopeful about the future. I hope to be posting quite a bit in the future now that I am feeling better.
I am also excited about march madness. This is one of the best times of the year. It is interesting. Even people who don't like college basketball the rest of the year become basketball experts in march and fill out there brackets.
Every bad and difficult experience can be used as a learning and growth experience. This is definitely true of my ordeal. I hate being in the hospital, but it is sure a time for reflection and introspection. Perhaps I will go into that further in another post.
